Finally done!!

I've been working on some (20) pew bows for a friend that is getting married this Sat. and I'm finally done with them. What a relief !!Hoping for some nice weather for her on Sat. ... hope everything goes well for her, she's worked so hard on everything for this day. This weekend is the start of Oktoberfest here in LaCrosse with the 4 hour parade, that I'm going to mioss for the first time in my life cuz of my friend's wedding. That's okay though cuz we just sat thru a 2 hour parade last Sunday. Have a great week!!

Only 1 year..

Only one year has passed since my last post!!! I really don't think this blogging is really for me!! Pretty sad huh??? How does one catch up with a whole years worth of happenings?? Well I don't really lead an exciting life but not alot of newsworthy stuff has gone on with us. I have in the last 6 months been on a DT for a LSS and have been enjoying that alot. We now have 6 grandchildren and they keep us quite busy! My youngest daughter graduated from tech school and got a job as a surgical tech in Eau Claire so we just moved her last weekend. :( We are happy for her but miss her terribly. All for now as I'm trying to get the challenges done for the online crop over at 2Scrappychixdesigns. Have a greatweekend.

Color scheme challenge

My color scheme challenge is about my family room. We built this on about a year after my Mom passed away. She had carsiding in the diningroom that I just loved so we have 5 ft. of the wall of carsiding and sheetrock on the upper 3 ft. I also have her couch is a light teal that has a little bit of rust in it so we painted the upper walls rust color.. The wood is a light golden oak. The ceiling is a pitched ceiling and we also used carsiding on that too. The room has the warm,cozy feel of Mom's house that we grew up in . Just a little reminder of her that I see everyday.

Favorite way to relax

My favorite way to relax is to go sit outside with a good book and read for awhile. Preferably by myself so I can actually read the book!!! If that doesn't work I go across the street to my friends house and have some coffee and chat for awhile...that always works for me.

Shame on me!!!

I say shame on me cuz I haven't entered anything since July 7th!!! It's been a very busy summer for us. We have had our grandchildren alot(we pick them up from the sitter when my DH is done with work and have them until about 8:00 everyday).Now that they are in school it will be a little earlier. We also tore up all the wood floors from my mother's house and are going to put them in our livingroom and hallway. The guy that bought the house is tearing it down and let us take anything that we wanted. I really hate to see it go but without her in it,it's just not the same anyway. I also took the cupboards and am planning on making my NEW scrapping room downstairs and I thought they would come in handy for alot of storage.This is what I plan on working on this winter. We didn't go on vacation this year cuz we were just too busy...just not enough time in a day to do everything that you want!!! 2scrappychixdesigns is having their 1 year anniversary celebration this month and are having so many contests and also a week long crop!!! There are so many prizes and its all going to be so much fun!!! Come join in on the fun!!!

If you don't use every day to it's full potential you're wasting your life. You don't appreciate alot of things til you don't have them anymore.

Getting to know me...

My name is Kim and I've been married to Bill for 34 years.We have 2 daughters and 1 son. We also have 1 granddaughter and 3 grandsons who we love to spend time with. I always look forward to the weekends when they come to visit and occassionally stay over.I really think that they keep us young. I work as a beauty advisor at Walgreens and really love to work with the public and to help them in any way that I can. I have been scrapping for about 4 years and have been teaching classes in my home for about a year. There's hardly a day that goes by that I'm not making something. I joined 2scrappychixdesigns last Sept. and have made 235 layouts since then .They have monthly online crops that are so much fun and their monthly challenges really keep you motivated. All of the girls there are so nice --it's almost like a second family!!You really should check them out!!!
